The Beginning of Summer Break

Last week we had a visit from Grandma Jo-Ann. Our kids love their grandma so very much. Silas has been asking for "Bama" since she went home. It was time well spent. We celebrated Canada day, went on walks to the park, and Spencer and I even got away for a night in Vancouver.

On Wednesday we went on a day trip to Buntzen Lake. We had a wonderful time. We took a hike further up the lake from the main beach and found a great rock to jump off. We hope to do a lot of family hikes and day trips this summer. The highlight for me is when we got to the rock and looked at the mountains, Juliette said to me "Mom, I wish I brought my nature journal so I could paint this picture."
