Happy Halloween!

This year we had Nancy Drew, Anne of Green Gables, Rapunzel, a monkey, and a chicken at our house. The kids had fun trick or treating around our neighborhood and also handing out candy.

We like to all go out trick or treating early and leave a bowl of candy on our porch. We leave a ton of candy and a sign saying "please take 2." We then hand out the rest of the candy when we are all home.

All the previous homes we have tried this in, the candy bowl has been robbed and we came back to an empty bowl. So far, in Whalley the honors system has worked two years in a row and we have had no candy robberies. It's a little thing, but sometimes these little things give me great hope for our neighborhood.

The below pictures are from other recent adventures: pumpkin carving, the girls on the sky train, Ella's continued love for the Anne of Green Gables series (she is flying through these books), game night (the real Monopoly!!), Silas' first haircut, and this morning we woke up to a blanket of snow!
